Rep. Artur Davis (D-AL)

Phone:  (202) 225-2665  .   Fax:  (202) 226-9567

From Rep. Davis' website, he explains the role of the House Judiciary Committee where he sits:

Established in 1813, the Committee on the Judiciary has been called the lawyer for the House of Representatives because of its jurisdiction over matters relating to the administration of justice in Federal courts, administrative bodies, and law enforcement agencies. Its infrequent but important role in impeachment proceedings has also brought it much attention.

Apparently, Davis is not to concerned with exploring the importance of impeachment hearings against VP Dick Cheney as he voted on November 6, 2007 to table Kucinich's privileged resolution on impeachment. He did, however, vote to send it to judiciary so let him know it's there waiting for him to help move forward.

In addition, Rep. Davis sits on the:

The Subcommittee on the Constitution, Civil Rights, and Civil Liberties shall have jurisdiction over the following subject matters: constitutional amendments, constitutional rights, federal civil rights, ethics in government, other appropriate matters as referred by the Chairman, and relevant oversight
