Nine impeachment activists carrying impeachment signs gathered in front of Rep. Capps' home on Santa Barbara Street to urge her to act on an impeachment resolution.

The group met Rep. Capps at her front door presenting her with a 5 by 8 ft. Christmas decorated sign that read: “Dear Santa, IMPEACH Bush & Cheney”

The sign had been autographed by many local residents while shopping at Paseo Nuevo Mall or attending the annual Parade of Lights on December 16th on Stearns Wharf.

The group urged Representative Capps to cosponsor Dennis Kucinich's (D-OH) House Resolution 333/799 to impeach Vice President Cheney. Rep. Capps recently voted to send this resolution to the House Judiciary Committee, which has yet to schedule hearings.

Capps was an original cosponsor of Conyers' H. Res. 635 which would make recommendations regarding grounds for possible impeachment. She was also one of 123 members of Congress who sent a letter to the White House demanding answers to questions about the Downing Street Minutes, specifically regarding "fixed" intelligence. Yet, she has yet to sign onto or introduce her own articles of impeachment.
