Honorable Brad Sherman:
I fully support the November 14th lobbying effort of your constituents. As supporters of the United States Constitution, rule of law and human rights we write to you, a member of the House Committee on the Judiciary. We are dismayed by your refusal
to confront the lawbreakers, the violators of our Constitution. We wholeheartedly support the lobbying by your constituents and other Democrats at your office Wednesday, Nov. 14, 2007. We demand that you make the initiation of impeachment your top priority and do all that you can to make it a reality.
By keeping impeachment off the table, you have not only failed your own oath of office to defend the Constitution from all enemies foreign and domestic, but also empowered Bush and Cheney to commit more high crimes and misdemeanors. In effect, you have put the Democratic party in the position of co-facilitator for the Executive Branch's ongoing dismantling of the Constitution and Bill of Rights. For that the American people hold you accountable, not just the people in your district and in your party. All Americans!
It is not too late to restore both the rule of law and citizens' trust in the execution of your constitutional duties. The remedy to the abuses of the Vice President is in the Constitution: Impeachment. Use it.
